Location of Clarendon

The city of Clarendon is located in the Panhandle region of Texas, approximately 60 miles southeast of Amarillo. The city is approximately 110 miles northeast of Lubbock, 50 miles west of the Texas/Oklahoma state line, and 122 miles east of the Texas/New Mexico state line. The city of Clarendon consists of approximately five square miles and is the County Seat of Donley County, as well as the area of heaviest commercial development within the county.
Clarendon's highway access is optimal, as US 287 (Second Street) traverses the town in an east/west direction, extending to Amarillo in the northwest and towards Wichita Falls and Fort Worth in the southeast. Other major roadways include Highway 70, which leads north to Interstate 40 and generally southeast towards Abilene. |
